Khshayarshâ II(reign circa 424BC)

Khshayarsha II took the throne after his father's death. There was a power struggle between three sons of Artakhshathra. Khshayarsha's reigned lasted not longer than 45 days. Three brothers claimed the throne. Khshayarsha gained a following in Persia and Media. Meanwhile his brother's Sughudana and Darayvaush II both claimed kingship. Sughudana gained popularity in Elam and Babylon. Thus the enemity brooded. When Khshayarsha was drunk, Sughudana sent two conspirators against his half-brother and had him slayed. Khshayarsha's reigned was prematurely ended.
